Resource Specialists

You will respond to callers and visitors who are looking for specific help with critical needs. We have multiple sources to help identify just the right assistance. Is being a Resource Specialist right for me?

 

  • Do you want to provide hope, support, and encouragement to folks who don’t know where to turn?

 

  •  Would you like to learn more about your community and all that it has to offer?

 

  •  Are you a problem solver who likes to hunt down the right piece to complete a puzzle?

 

  •  Could you give a few hours a week or month to make a positive impact on your community?

 

  •  Would you enjoy the challenge of growing an organization that needs your talents to meet a vital need?

 

  •  Is being part of a caring and compassionate team important in your volunteering?

 

 

What is required to be a Resource Specialist?

 

If you checked most of the boxes above, then you have what it takes to perform in this important role.  Here is what you need to do to get started:

 

 

 

  • Provide two references prior to training.

 

  • Attend our one hour Volunteer Orientation.  See ourᅠ Calendar ᅠfor our next Volunteer Orientation date.

 

  • Complete 8 hours of classroom training and 8 hours of On The Job training

 

  • Schedule yourself at least 4 hours a month.  Hours are 10 AM – 2 PM Monday through Friday.

 

  • Attend a monthly Resource Specialist Team meeting (Second Tuesday of the month, 9-11 AM)

Resource Liaisons

You will become the link between SCRC Resource Specialists and the service providing community we rely on to serve our clients.  You will be aligned with a specific service category (Mental Health, Transportation, etc.) and be responsible for creating and maintaining critical relationships with our top service providers in that area.  We have developed a network of service providers (SPIN) which is designed to build partnership and collaboration among our service community…you will be an integral part of this network effort.

  • Do you want to help the community expand its knowledge of available services and assistance?

 

  • Would you like to become the “expert” in a given service area?

 

  • Are you a problem solver who likes to hunt down the right piece to complete a puzzle?

 

  • Do you prefer a flexible volunteer schedule with no fixed hours?

 

  • Would you enjoy the challenge of growing an organization that needs your talents to meet a vital need?

 

  • Is being part of a caring and compassionate team important in your volunteering?

  • Be available during business hours to meet with service providers in your service area.

Marketing Team

We are developing strategies to spread the word about our services and vision for our community. If you have marketing expertise and a talent for communication in today’s world, we need you! We recognize the need for creative approaches and a presence in both the web and social media.ᅠ We have many opportunities to participate in community events that allow us to shout out about who we are and what we do….we need an army to reach everyone!  Our marketing team would love to discuss the possibilities with you….

Fund Development Team

We have grant writing teams that are looking for those who have an interest and talent in garnering support to enable us to be successful.  Our annual fundraiser, Souptember, is a wonderful way to work with a team on a fun project.

Technology Team

We have developed some pretty sophisticated tools to help our team be effective in identifying and accessing available resources for our clients.  We are constantly improving our capabilities and expanding our online presence.  Those with a teaching orientation are needed to keep us at the cutting edge both on the web and in social media.
